Political tensions in Pakistan increased on Monday when the police announced that they had filed a demand for terrorism against Prime Minister Imran Khan for allegedly threatening public officials in his speech during a general meeting on Saturday. As the Imran Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), warned national protests if he was arrested, hundreds of supporters gathered around his residence to prevent their leaders from being detained. Meanwhile, Imran moved the Islamic High Court of Islamabad, and was given a pre-armed guarantee until August 25.
What causes this point?
The crisis began after Imran Utama’s aide, Shehbaz Gill, was arrested on August 9 over the comments made on TV, which became the country’s media regulator, the Pakistani electronic media regulatory authority (GRADUICAL) was called “Property” and was the same as inciting “armed forces to the generation Armed towards the direction of “armed forces. rebel”.
PTI since then claimed that Gill had been tortured in custody and his life remained in danger. In a general meeting on Saturday, Imran attacked a judge who had approved a 48 -hour physical detention for Gill, and vowed to submit a case of high -ranking Islamic Police.
Soon after, the former PM itself was ordered under part 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Law (Penalty for acts of terrorism) for “terrorizing” the police and justice in his speech.
What does Imran Khan want?
Enthusiastic to ride the current momentum that benefits him, the former PM encourages the initial election. While his popularity fell before his expulsion in April, it changed dramatically after he was chosen in a motion without the trust he managed to paint as “arranged”.
