Amaravati: Chairman of Minister Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday gave support to Presidential candidates NDA Draupadi Murmu, who would be the first ethnic woman to hold the position if she won.CM Jagan believes that it is in accordance with the emphasis that he always gives to the representatives of the SC, ST, BC, and Minority Community, according to an official statement by the state government.
In the last three years, CM Jagan has given a great interest in improving these communities and even ensures they are well represented in the cabinet, with them being the largest part of 70 percent.However, CM will not be able to attend the nomination submission by Draupadi Murmu because of the previous scheduled cabinet meeting. On the contrary, Rajya Sabha members and parliamentary leaders of the Parliament Vijaysai Reddy and Lok Sabha Midhun Reddy members were present, he added.
Previously on that day, MS Murmu reached Delhi and held a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah, and National President BJP JP Nadda. The election for the presidential position will take place on July 18.He is the first presidential candidate from Odisha from a political party or main alliance. He continued to break obstacles and was Jharkhand’s first female governor. He served as Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021.
Originally from a tribal family that is poor in the village of Mayurbhanj, backward district in Odisha, Droupadi Murmu completed his studies despite challenging circumstances. He taught at the Shri Aurobindo Integral Education Center, Rairangpur.
He began his political career as Deputy Chairman of Rairangpur Nac. Droupadi Murmu is a member of the Odisha Legislative Council from Rairangpur between 2000 and 2004. As a minister, he holds a portfolio of transportation and trade, animal husbandry and fisheries. He returned to serve as MLA in the Odisha Council from 2004 to 2009.
In 2007, the Odisha Council respected him with the ‘Nilakantha Award’ for the best MLA. He served as a junior assistant in the Irrigation and Power Department between 1979 and 1983. He had held several organizational posts in BJP and was the Vice President State of St. Morcha in 1997.
Droupadi Murmu is a member of the National Executive of St Morcha from BJP from 2013 to 2015 and serves as Head of the BJP District of Mayurbhanj (Western) in 2010 and 2013. Between 2006 and 2009, he was the Head of St Morcha BJP in Odisha. He is a member of the National Executive BJP ST Morcha from 2002 to 2009.The voting for the next Indian President will begin on July 18 while the calculation will take place on July 21.
