New Delhi Omicron may have turned out to be a fast- spreading but fairlynon-lethal variant of COVID-19, but a more deadly interpretation of the contagion-NeoCov has now been detected in South Africa. Scientists from China’s Wuhan lab have reportedly advised that NeoCov has a high death rate and high transmission rate According to a report by Russian news agency Sputnik, the NeoCov contagion is associated with the MERS-CoV contagion that was discovered in the middle-eastern countries in 2012-15 NeoCov a relative of MERS fever According to Russian agency TASS, scientists in China discovered that the NeoCov variant of coronavirus that was plant in batons in South Africa is a relative of the MERS fever that has symptoms an d goods the same as SARS CoV-2. The report also cited that the Chinese experimenters have plant that the mortality rate in the NeoCov contagion is veritably high-‘one in every three infected individualities’.
“ The Vector exploration center is apprehensive of the data attained by Chinese experimenters on the NeoCoV coronavirus. At the moment, the issue isn’t the emergence of a new coronavirus able of laboriously spreading among humans,”the Russian State Virology and Biotechnology Research Center said in astatement. It may be noted that the Omicron variant of COVID-19 was also detected first in Africa. While it was originally viewed as a variant of concern, experimenters have observed that however presto- spreading, Omicron has not redounded in increased hospitalizations and has a low mortality rate. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also stressed that increased vaccination has been the reason behind reduced mortality and hospitalisation due to Omicron.
